Jeff Weber is a quiet, low-key and modest man born in Blue Earth, Minnesota. From a young age, Jeff was always interested in the way things worked mechanically. He recalls, “I was always tinkering—building things or tearing things apart.” It was Jeff’s grandfather who introduced him to the field of industrial design. Once Weber learned more about design, he never really thought about doing anything else. He says, “Creatively, it was a good niche for me.”
Today his curiosity has blossomed into a full-blown passion for creating furniture. Weber credits his love of furniture design to Bill Strumpf, one of the designers of the Herman Miller® Aeron® Chairs. Weber believes that “too often, good design is expensive. I wanted to break that cliche.” With the Caper® Chairs, for which he won the Gold Award for Best of NeoCon, and the Best of IIDEX/NeoCon Canada, Jeff has indeed proved that good design can be affordable.
